What is more stressful than Corona Virus?

Are you afraid of the Corona Virus? Do you think about it when you feel a little weak?

We all are afraid of it but today I am wondering are we really afraid of Corona Virus or of the situations we are in because of that.

Yes, we are stressed about it because of the painful test and also because it has taken so many lives and so many are on the verge of dying but are we only stressed about this?

We want to be safe but we don’t want to stay in quarantine. We know that these holidays are because of this pandemic to stay at homes and keep others safe but we are more into traveling and tours. We are making plans to visit our cousins. We are making our barbeque plans. We are throwing parties and inviting all our friends. Is this social distancing? Sadly, this is not social distancing, this is a social gathering. To this day we are not taking this thing seriously.

At the time of this pandemic, Pakistan was on the road to stabilization but this pandemic disturbs everything. As we all know, everything is jammed because of Covid-19 and lockdown introduced by the governments of almost all the countries. Flights are delayed, markets are closed, roads are empty, educational institutes are shut and offices are the home of dust. “Pakistan’s economy is shrinking, unemployment is rising and various sectors are in crisis,” warned Zafar Moti, the former director of the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE). Mr. Moti also mentioned that he is concerned about the impact of this pandemic more than the financial market of Pakistan. In 2018, when Imran Khan, Prime Minister of Pakistan, took hold of the government the GDP of Pakistan was around 5.8% and now it is below zero, 0.98% and it is more likely to decline further.

The hope of daily wagers is coming to an end. We are enjoying our festivities, we are shopping for the latest trending outfits but are we thinking about those who are not even able to eat one good meal on this Eid? Low-class workers are trying their best to make both ends meet. We can spot them on the roads searching for any kind of work. They have the energy, but they don’t have work. They are not afraid of getting infected by CORONA VIRUS but they are afraid of the situation they will be facing if they do not get work. Their families won’t be able to have a meal and that is way more stressing to them than Corona Virus.

We are stressed about financial crises. We are stressed about the studies of our children. We are stressed about how we will come up with all the losses we have faced in our businesses at this time. We are stressed that we are not able to meet our loved ones. We are thinking about the things related to us. We are only thinking about us, we are being selfish. We say sooner or later, this pandemic will be over but what making us worried is us household but are we thinking about why we got into this situation?

The price of everyday items is increasing on a weekly or monthly basis including food items. It is getting difficult for the families in which only one person is earning to pay for all the bills, fees of schools, the rent of the house and then what left is spent on the grocery. What else could they do? How can they even think about enjoying their lives? How can they think about going out with friends to have some good time? They are at their homes 365 days looking at the miseries in their lives and wondering would they be able to get better. Would they ever be able to live a happy life?
